Volunteer to Drive for Our Emergency Shelters
One of the crucial tasks our volunteer team manages each week is transporting donated food and items around town to our three emergency shelters. Driving donations for Our Just Future is a convenient and important way to help those experiencing homelessness. Responsible teen drivers can log volunteer hours this way, too. Plus, it’s socially distanced!
Some Details to Get You Started
- You’ll need a reliable vehicle and fuel.
- We have a variety of driving options, including ongoing weekly runs and on-call, one-time, no-commitment jobs.
- Most items we’re transporting are food from local partners, so it’s smart to protect your vehicle from food spillage. We recommend laying down a tarp, trash bag or towel as a liner.
The donations you’ll transport ensure that shelter residents have reliable access to meals. Reach out if you’d like to join us, and when you’re driving for us say hello to our generous partners – they’re lovely folks who we’re sure you’ll enjoy meeting!
