The way we volunteer has changed during the coronavirus pandemic, but the need to cook meals for people accessing our shelters hasn’t. For now, instead of inviting folks to cook in our shelter kitchens, we’re hosting drop-off potlucks!

These community-made meals have been a big hit – not just because of the wonderful array of delicious dishes, but because sharing food is an age-old way of building community and showing that we care for one another. Sound fun? We’d love to have you or your community group join us. It takes a village!

Find a Potluck That’s Right for You

We offer potlucks in all three of our East Multnomah County shelters, where we host up to 240 people every night. Each shelter hosts potlucks at varying times throughout the week, with a mixture of continental breakfast, brunch and dinner options.

Gresham Women’s Shelter

Located in the Rockwood neighborhood, this shelter is home to about 60 residents who identify as women, non-binary or gender-queer.

Lilac Meadows

This is our family shelter, home to about 120 residents (up to 40 families at a time), and is located in the Foster-Powell neighborhood.

The Chestnut Tree Inn

Located in the Hazelwood neighborhood, this social-distancing shelter opened in response to the pandemic and hosts around 60 COVID-vulnerable residents who identify as women, non-binary or gender-queer.
