Donate a Meal for Shelter Residents
Sharing food is a powerful act of community. Thanks for stepping up — and into community. Giving is good for everyone involved!
Our Just Future operates three emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness: one for families with children and two for adults who identify as women, nonbinary or genderqueer. All three shelters depend on volunteers to donate and prepare and meals. Our shelters have different numbers of residents: 40, 60 and 130, so you can decide how many meals is right for you.
Several Ways to Help with Food
Make and Deliver Sack Lunches
Making sack lunches provides meals that are easy to distribute. They’re also a great service project for students!
Cook a Dish for Our Popular Drop-Off Potlucks
At each of our potlucks, the community comes together with an array of options. Each shelter hosts potlucks at varying times throughout the week, with a mixture of continental breakfast, brunch and dinner options. Plan to prepare and deliver food for about 12 people
Cook and Deliver a Dinner
You can also cook a meal that feeds 40, 60 or 120 people. Contact us to get started.
Sponsor a Shelter Dinner for Delivery
Participating in our shelter dinner sponsorship program is a great way to support your favorite local restaurant! We can help with amounts and popular foods.
Anyone preparing food should follow guidelines for safe food preparation.
