Support our Vegan Food Drive!
We need your help collecting vegan foods for residents in our emergency shelters.
Join us for our first vegan food drive! We’ve heard from shelter residents that they want and need more vegan options, and Food Fight! has graciously offered to host us. We’ll be collecting donations at the Food Fight! location in the Gateway neighborhood from August 22-28.

Every night, our East Multnomah County emergency shelters host up to 230 people experiencing homelessness. We provide residents with three meals daily while they stay with us, which adds up to nearly 700 meals a day. Our network of resources, when stitched together, ensures we have meals available when they’re needed most. Food drives – that’s where you come in! – are part of this network and help fill critical gaps so that we better meet a variety of dietary needs.
If you’re near the Gateway neighborhood and want to contribute, swing by their store and do a little shopping to give back to our shelters while also supporting this local small business! We’re looking for both perishable and nonperishable items. Not in the area? That’s okay – Food Fight! is accepting gift card donations on our behalf. Just give them a call at 503.889.0685 anytime from August 22 to 28 and let them know you’re buying a gift card for the Human Solutions food drive.
Know someone who might be interested in donating to the drive? Please share! We love it when our community grows.
