LearnLinks: A Program for K-12 Youth
About LearnLinks
A Positive-Action Curriculum
LearnLinks uses a cognitive-behavioral curriculum called positive action that teaches youth how to frame their thoughts for success. In our curriculum, youth learn the connection between positive thoughts, actions, and feelings to help them develop a positive self-concept. The goal is for students and adults to gain not only the knowledge, attitudes, norms, and skills to move through life’s obstacles, but also improved values, self-concept, family bonding, peer selection, communication, and appreciation of school and learning.
Five-Week Summer Program
Our five-week summer program will focus on learning the cycle of setting up goals for self-improvement. Youth will learn how to review situations in their life in constructive ways while developing the skills, perspectives, and confidence to move through their life-developmental tasks. The lesson plans for the day are listed at the top of the calendar days.
Daily Attendance Produces Best Results
We recognize daily attendance can be challenging when living in a temporary housing situation. Support is available for parents and youth who find it difficult to attend regularly.
Get a Gift Card
Students who attend the program regularly (at least twice that week) will receive a gift card on Thursdays to go on a family outing on Friday. Gift card handouts will start on July 20.
