After 20 years of providing energy assistance to Multnomah and East Multnomah County, Our Just Future will no longer be able to provide energy assistance starting on October 1, 2026. Our subcontract with Metropolitan Family Services that has funded the program will end as of September 30th.
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve our community and to have partnered with MFS for more than two decades. While we will no longer be providing these services, energy assistance services will continue through Metropolitan Family Services for our community. We will stop accepting referrals on Sept. 18th, 2026.
Beginning October 1, 2026, individuals and families seeking energy assistance should contact Metropolitan Family Services directly for information about available services, eligibility, applications, and assistance to help households stay current on utility bills including: electric, gas, oil, water, and sewer.
For more information about MFS’s energy assistance services, please email them at energy.assistance@mfs.email. Please have the following documents ready:
- Photo ID for everyone in the household age 18 and older
- Social security cards for all household members who have one
- Proof of household income for the last 30 days
- A current utility bill
Please note that Metropolitan Family Services is currently in the process of hiring staff and establishing the systems needed to provide these services. Additional information will be made available as their program is established. You can also contact 211 if assistance is needed.
We deeply appreciate the trust our community has placed in Just Future over the last two decades.
